The Future of Global Architecture - 9 October 2019, TU Wien

James von Klemperer, Principal Architect and Designer @ KPF New York, discusses the "Future of Global Architecture" at a podium debate on 9 October 2019, TU Wien - a cooperation between the Institute of Spatial Planning and Institute of Architecture and Design.

The Future of “Global Architecture”

Date/time: Wed. Oct. 9, 2019, 6.30 p.m.; TU Wien, Informatikhörsaal (Treitlstraße 3, 1040 Wien, ground floor)

The keynote lecture and panel discussion will focus on the different conditions for creating architecture in the Americas, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa. Is there a “global architecture”, based on homogenous market conditions that have led to a new international style? Will new demands on ecology, urban development, and climate-awareness/climate change lead to more diversity or – as these demands can only be solved on a global scale – more uniformity? What responsibilities do architects and planners have in "global architecture"?
